Creating a Broadcast Control User (DJ account)

In order to broadcast live to your MSCP service, you’ll need to create a Broadcast Control User, also known as a DJ account. This guide will walk you through the process.

First, click the ‘Manage Users’ icon at the bottom of the ‘Broadcast Control Users’ box on the main page.

On the page that loads, click ‘New user’.

On the next page, enter the username, password, the desired mount points, and other access settings for this DJ account. We recommend setting the Stream ID and Mountpoint to ‘All’, but you can set the DJ account to only access specific stream ID’s or mount points if you wish. Full access also requires you to allow the DJ account access to all mount points, so it’s worth bearing this in mind.

If this DJ account is going to stream to a ShoutCast service, set the ‘Use broadcast control user own access for live broadcast (port 8004)’ toggle to Disabled. If this DJ account is going to stream to an IceCast service, set this toggle to Enabled.

Finally, ensure that the DJ account is set as Active (this is set as default), and click ‘Set’ at the bottom of the page. That’s it – you’re done! Your new DJ account will now have been created, and you’ll be able to see connection information in the ‘Broadcast Control Users (DJ Accounts) page.
