Uploading your music (MediaCP)

Uploading your music to your MediaCP service is a simple process, and this can be done either via the web-based uploader available within MediaCP itself, or via FTP. This article will walk you through the process for both methods.

Uploading via MediaCP:

Click ‘Media‘, found on the left hand side navigation menu in MediaCP. Once the ‘Media Tracks’ page loads, click ‘Add Media‘ in the top right corner. Click ‘Select Media‘ in the box that appears.

Your computer’s file explorer will open. Select the file(s) you would like to upload, then click ‘Open(or the equivalent action on Mac/other devices).

Your files will begin uploading and processing. You can see the status of this process in the box that appears in the top right of the page. Once all files have a green tick next to them, they have been successfully processed and uploaded to your service.

That’s it – you’re done! These files will now be present on your station, and you’ll be able to assign them to your playlists.

Uploading via FTP:

Click ‘Media‘, found on the left hand side navigation menu in MediaCP. Once the ‘Media Tracks’ page loads, click ‘Add Media‘ in the top right corner. Click ‘Upload media tracks via FTP‘ in the box that appears.

A popup box with the correct FTP connection details to use for your station will appear.

Enter these details into your FTP software, making sure that the server address, port, username and password are correct (the software being used in the screenshot below is FileZilla).

Follow the standard upload procedure as per your FTP software’s documentation. That’s it – you’re done! These files will now be present on your station, and you’ll be able to assign them to your playlists.
