Banning an IP, or an entire subnet, from connecting to your service using ShoutCast is very straightforward – this article will walk you through the process.
First, head to your ShoutCast Stream Status page. If you don’t know how to access this page, we have a handy guide on this here.
Once you’re on your ShoutCast Stream Status page, click ‘Server Login‘, found in the top right corner of the page.
You will need to enter the username as ‘admin’, and the password will be the administrator password for your service – generally, this is the password you use to log into your control panel. Please contact support if you need assistance in finding this password.
Once you’ve signed in, click ‘Ban List‘, found on the navigation bar running along the top of the page.
Enter the IP or subnet that you would like to ban from connecting to your service in the boxes provided, then click ‘Ban Single IP’ or ‘Ban Whole Subnet’, depending on what you have entered.
You’ll then see the banned IP’s/subnet on the left hand side of the page.
That’s it – you’re done! Those IP’s/subnets will now be prevented from connecting to your station.
Please note that you will need to fully restart your station to apply these changes!
